JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Despite four hits from Xavier Edwards and six strikeouts from Chi Chi González, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp fell to the Nashville Sounds 11-4 Tuesday night at 121 Financial Ballpark.

With the score tied at four, Tyler Naquin was hit by pitch to start the eighth. Cam Devanney doubled off Jacksonville (24-33) relief pitcher Jefy Yan (0-2) to plate Naquin and put the Sounds (29-28) up 5-4. A wild pitch and a walk put runners on first and third. Henry singled to extend Nashville’s lead, making it 6-4. Monte Harrison followed with a single to load the bases. Two batters later, Roman Quinn singled in two more runs, padding the lead to 8-4. Michael Reed doubled home two more runs, giving Nashville a 10-4 lead.

The Sounds led off the ninth inning with back-to-back doubles from Devanney and Alvarez, which extended the Sounds lead 11-4.

In a scoreless top of the third, Roman Quinn reached on a fielder’s choice. Michael Reed (1) then hit a two-run homer to right field to give Nashville a two-run advantage.

Jacksonville quickly gained the lead in the home half of the third. Victor Victor Mesa reached on a fielding error, Santiago Chavez walked and Xavier Edwards singled to juice the bases. Then, back-to-back base knocks by Charles Leblanc and Jacob Amaya scored a trio of runs to put Jacksonville in front. With runners on second and third, Peyton Burdick walked to load the bases for Jake Mangum, who also walked to push across the fourth run of the inning for the Jumbo Shrimp, making it 4-2.

Nashville plated a pair of runs in the sixth to level the game at four. Patrick Dorrian walked, and Tyler Naquin singled to put two on to begin the frame. Jacksonville starter Chi Chi Gonzalez induced a double play, allowing Dorrian to reach third. One batter later, Eddy Alvarez laced a double down the first baseline to bring home Henry. Payton Henry then knocked a line drive single to score Alvarez and tie the game.

Jacksonville and Nashville will continue their series in a doubleheader featuring two seven-inning games at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday. In game one, RHP Jeff Lindgren (4-2, 5.44 ERA) starts for the Jumbo Shrimp against Sounds RHP Caleb Boushley (3-2, 5.19 ERA). The finale pits Jacksonville RHP Ronald Bolaños (1-6, 9.37 ERA) against Nashville RHP Robert Gasser (3-1, 4.59ERA). Coverage begins at 11:50 a.m. on Bally Live, and MiLB.TV.
