BlueClaws Fall 4-2 on Wednesday to Wilmington in ShoreTown

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Jeremy De La Rosa had two hits and drove in two runs as Wilmington topped the BlueClaws 4-2 on Wednesday night at ShoreTown Ballpark.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Jeremy De La Rosa had two hits and drove in two runs as Wilmington topped the BlueClaws 4-2 on Wednesday night at ShoreTown Ballpark.

Jersey Shore (17-27/42-68) had their three game win streak snapped. They have split the first two games of the current series with the Blue Rocks (21-23/56-53).

Wilmington opened the scoring in the first inning on an RBI single by Jeremy De La Rosa. They added two more in the fourth on RBI singles by Leandro Emiliani and Viandel Pena to take a 3-0 lead.

Jersey Shore got on the board in the fourth on a two-run triple from Rixon Wingrove. On the play, the throw home got away from catcher Drew Millas, but Wingrove was tagged out trying to score.

De La Rosa added an RBI triple in the fifth to give Wilmington a 4-2 lead. Neither team scored from there. The BlueClaws put two men on base in the ninth inning off Jose Ferrer, but Casey Martin and Anthony Quirion struck out to end the game.

Wilmington starter Michael Cuevas (5-11) earned the win, allowing two runs in five innings. Rafael Marcano (1-4) took the loss, allowing four runs in five innings of relief.

Baron Radcliff and Jared Carr each had two for the BlueClaws.

Andrew Baker threw two scoreless innings in relief for Jersey Shore, striking out four. Rodolfo Sanchez and Albertus Barber each threw scoreless innings as well.

Kyle Glogoski starts for the BlueClaws as the teams continue their series on Thursday night.
