WILMINGTON, DE - Despite two hits and a home run from Casey Martin, the BlueClaws dropped their fifth straight game, falling 4-2 on Tuesday in the first game of a six-game series in Wilmington.

The BlueClaws fell to 0-4 to start the second half while Wilmington improved to 2-2.

Martin's fourth home run of the season opened the scoring in the top of the second inning. The lead, however, was short-lived as Wilmington scored twice in the bottom of the second to take the lead on a two-run home run by Drew Mendoza.

Martin then tied the game with an RBI double in the top of the fourth. This time, it was Wilmington's Ricardo Mendez who answered, putting the Blue Rocks ahead 3-2 on an RBI single in the bottom of the inning.

BlueClaws starter Matt Russell (2-5) game out after five innings, allowing three runs in five innings.

Mendoza tripled in a run in the bottom of the sixth off reliever Albertus Barber.

Cristian Hernandez and Andrew Schultz threw scoreless innings in relief for Jersey Shore.

Michael Cuevas (3-7) earned the win, allowing two runs in six innings.

The teams continue their series on Wednesday night. RHP Griff McGarry starts for Jersey Shore.
