WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - Nick Lackney got Anthony Seigler to ground out to short with the tying run at second base as the BlueClaws held off Hudson Valley 6-4 on Wednesday night at Dutchess Stadium.

The BlueClaws (16-20) leveled their series with Hudson Valley (21-15) after the Renegades won the series opener on Tuesday.

Jersey Shore took the lead in the sixth inning when Keaton Greenwalt scored on a wild pitch. The BlueClaws added a run in the ninth inning on an RBI double from Jonathan Guzman to go up 6-4. Lackney, who came on in the bottom of the eighth inning and earned a six out save, gave up a single and a walk with one out in the ninth, but he got Josh Breaux to ground out and Seigler to ground out to end the game. In the process, he earned his first professional save.

Carlo Reyes threw two scoreless innings and Andrew Brown gave up one run in the fifth but improved to 2-1 on the season. Jersey Shore starter Dominic Pipkin gave up three runs in four innings while striking out seven.

DJ Stewart's SAC fly in the first inning opened the scoring and put the BlueClaws up 1-0. Jose Tortolero added an RBI single in the second to give Jersey Shore a 2-1 lead. After Hudson Valley re-took the lead, the BlueClaws came back with two in the fifth, one on a passed ball and one on a Stewart RBI single, for a 4-3 lead. The Renegades added a run in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game, but that would be their final run of the night.

Hunter Markwardt had two hits and two stolen bases for Jersey Shore. The BlueClaws added three more stolen bases, one each by Nate Fassnacht, Keaton Greenwalt, and Tortolero plus Markwart's pair, giving them seven in the first two games of the series. Stewart had his first two-RBI game since joining the BlueClaws last week.

The teams continue their seven-game series on Thursday night at 7:05 pm.
