Pelletier Homers, BlueClaws Win Fourth Straight in FirstEnergy Park Finale on Sunday

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Ben Pelletier homered and the BlueClaws finished their home schedule with a fourth straight win, topping Greensboro 8-4 on Sunday at FirstEnergy Park.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Ben Pelletier homered and the BlueClaws finished their home schedule with a fourth straight win, topping Greensboro 8-4 on Sunday at FirstEnergy Park.

The BlueClaws (53-59) won the last four after Greensboro (71-43) took the first two in their six game series.

Jersey Shore broke open a scoreless game with five runs in the bottom of the third off Santiago Florez. DJ Stewart's infield single opened the scoring before Herbert Iser singled in a run. Pelletier smashed a three-run home run, his second with the BlueClaws this year.

Greensboro responded with three runs in the top of the fourth to pull within two, including a two-run double by Lolo Sanchez. After the Hoppers got another run in the fifth, the BlueClaws pulled away. In the sixth, Jose Tortolero doubled home a run. He would later score on a wild pitch before a SAC fly from McCarthy Tatum made it 8-4.

Starter Jhordany Mezquita (3-8) earned the win, allowing four runs in five innings. Aidan Anderson (two), Jonathan Hughes (one) and Gabriel Yanez (one) combined for four scoreless innings in relief.

Nicolas Torres had three hits and is hitting .413 in 21 games with the BlueClaws. He has 10 multi-hit games in those 21 games. Tortolero had two hits as well.

The BlueClaws have concluded their home schedule and will finish the season with six games in Brooklyn beginning on Tuesday.
