BOWLING GREEN, KY - McCarthy Tatum homered but the BlueClaws fell 6-5 on Thursday night at Bowling Green.

The Hot Rods (18-11) have taken two of the first three from the BlueClaws (10-18), who snapped a 10-game road losing streak with a win on Wednesday.

Jersey Shore scored twice in the first inning, once on a SAC fly by Casey Martin and later on a single by Tatum, to jump up 2-0. But Bowling Green responded by scoring the next six runs on three home runs. Heriberto Hernandez (6) homered in the second and then Ronny Simon hit a two-run shot in the third and a three run shot in the fourth. All three home runs were hit off BlueClaws starter Cristian Hernandez (1-1), who was charged with six runs in five innings to take the loss.

Tatum hit a two run home run in the sixth, his second of the year, and Andrick Nava added an RBI triple to cut the Hot Rods lead to 6-5. The BlueClaws, however, stranded a leadoff single from Carlos De La Cruz in the seventh and the last nine were retired by the Hot Rods pen.

Joe LaSorsa got the last five outs for his third save. Connor Dryer (3-0) threw two scoreless innings to earn the win.

Tatum ended up 2-4 with three RBIs for Jersey Shore while Simon drove in five for the Hot Rods.

The teams continue their series on Friday night at 7:35 pm EST. The BlueClaws return home on May 24th to take on Greenville.
