LANCASTER, Calif. - It took a late rally for the JetHawks to take down San Jose, 5-3, Tuesday at The Hangar. Lancaster scored a pair of eighth-inning runs to earn the win, the team's second final at-bat victory in six games.

LANCASTER, Calif. - It took a late rally for the JetHawks to take down San Jose, 5-3, Tuesday at The Hangar. Lancaster scored a pair of eighth-inning runs to earn the win, the team's second final at-bat victory in six games.

Lancaster (4-2) had not led heading into the eighth inning with the game tied 3-3. Vince Fernandez led off the frame with a fly ball double, capping off a 4-for-4 night at the plate. He would score later in the frame on an RBI single by Alan Trejo, putting the JetHawks up a run. Trejo scored on a Manny Melendez sac fly to make it 5-3.
Jeff Hoffman made a rehab start for Lancaster, allowing a pair of runs over three innings. Rico Garcia (1-0) earned the win pitching in relief behind Hoffman. Lancaster's Opening Night starter allowed just one run over five innings in relief. Reid Humphreys worked around a pair of hits to pick up his third save.
San Jose (3-3) took an early lead with two runs off of Hoffman in the second inning. Starter Melvin Adon worked into the sixth inning, but Dylan Rheault (0-1) suffered the defeat in relief.
The series concludes with a rubber game Wednesday night. Matt Dennis (0-1) takes the ball for the JetHawks. First pitch is 6:35 pm at The Hangar.
