LANCASTER, Calif. - The JetHawks finished their season-long eight game homestand with a 6-3 win to sweep the Stockton Ports on Monday afternoon at The Hangar.

The victory gives Lancaster five in a row to match the team's season-best win streak.

Lancaster had trailed 1-0 after an unearned run scored in the second inning but quickly erased the deficit when Brandon Meredith hit a two-run home run, his first of the season, to start a six-run fourth inning.

Preston Tucker, Raoul Torrez, Joe Sclafani and Carlos Perdomo each followed the home run with hits to chase Ports starter Deyvi Jimenez (0-2).

Jimenez allowed six runs on eight hits over his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Sclafani, Ryan McCurdy and Nolan Fontana all picked up RBIs in the fourth inning as well.

Blair Walters struggled with his command but pitched out of numerous jams to keep the JetHawks on top. He got the Ports to leave the bases loaded in the second and fourth innings. Walters finished the day without allowing an earned run and struck out five to go along with a season-high four walks.

T.J. Geith (4-0) threw a perfect fifth inning of relief to pick up the win.

Tommy Shirley, the tandem starter, retired the first eight batters he faced before giving up three straight doubles in the eighth inning. Phil Pohl started the string of doubles and Wade Kirkland and B.A. Vollmuth each drove in runs behind him.

Travis Ballew was called upon for to record the final out of the eighth inning and he also pitched the ninth inning to pick his sixth save of the season.

Delino DeShields went 2-for-4 with an RBI and was caught stealing in the game. Andrew Aplin finished 0-for-4 to end his seven-game hitting streak.

Meredith doubled in his first at-bat and finished with a 2-for-4 afternoon.

The JetHawks (23-15) are improved to season-best eight games over .500 and will head up to Visalia after an off-day on Tuesday for a four game series.
