LANCASTER, Calif. - The Modesto Nuts scored nine runs over the final two innings to come back and beat the JetHawks, 12-7, in a rubber game on Monday night at The Hangar.

Lancaster led 7-1 after five innings before Modesto began to chip away. The Nuts shrunk the lead to 7-6 heading into the ninth inning before putting up six runs to jump ahead.

Travis Ballew (2-3) entered the game in the eighth inning for Jonas Dufek with runners on first and third and two outs. Ballew threw a wild pitch to allow a run to score and gave up a two-run homer to Will Swanner to bring Modesto close.

The Nuts started the ninth inning with back-to-back singles and then Ballew hit David Kandilas, who was trying to bunt, to load the bases. Trevor Story followed with a two-run double to put Modesto ahead and Taylor Featherston increased the lead with a two-run single.

Michael Dimock came in from the bullpen and gave up a two-run double to cap off the Nuts scoring.

The Nuts totaled 11 hits over the final four innings of the game. The JetHawks did not have a hit past the fifth inning.
