LANCASTER, Calif. - Telvin Nash hit a solo homer in the second inning but the JetHawks were shut down the rest of the way in a 7-1 loss to the Inland Empire 66ers at The Hangar on Thursday night.
Nash hit his team-leading 15th home run to lead off the second inning against Inland Empire starter Dan Reynolds (9-7).
Reynolds shut the JetHawks down the rest of the way. He finished with seven innings under his belt and allowed seven hits. He struck out four and walked three.
Lancaster left 13 men on base in the game including the bases loaded twice.
Matt Duffy had a solid night offensively, finishing 4-for-4, his first four hit game of the season. Tyler Heineman went 2-for-4.
Aside from Nash's home run, the rest of the JetHawks' 10 hits were singles.
Tommy Shirley (0-4) allowed nine hits over six innings. Inland Empire scored two unearned runs against him in the third inning to take the lead and then the lefty gave up a two-run home run to Michael Snyder in the fifth.
The 66ers added three runs, but only one earned), against reliever Cameron Lamb in the eighth to extend their lead.
The JetHawks (15-7, 54-38) will look to avoid a sweep against the 66ers (14-8, 51-41) on Friday night at 7:00 pm at The Hangar. Aaron West (6-5, 5.12) will start for Lancaster.
