Varsity First Pitch returns to The Hangar

LANCASTER, CA - High school baseball returns to The Hangar on Thursday, March 14 for the opening game of the 10th annual Varsity First Pitch presented by the University of Antelope Valley. The weeklong event is free to the public and will feature a total of 21 high school baseball teams from across Southern California.

 

Rosamond and Antelope Valley will open Varsity First Pitch on Thursday at 3:15 pm and the schedule will continue with a doubleheader on Monday, March 18. The games conclude with a home run derby and a matchup between Palmdale and Golden Valley on Saturday, March 23. Eight other games will be played throughout the week.

 

By continuing the Varsity First Pitch tradition, the Lancaster JetHawks and the University of Antelope Valley provide high school players and coaches the unique opportunity to compete in a professional baseball venue.

 

Gates at The Hangar will open at 2:30 pm on each day of competition. The Varsity First Pitch schedule of events is:

3:15 pm - Desert Christian vs. Desert

6:30 pm - Eastside vs. Vasquez

Thursday, March 21

3:15 pm - Frazier Mountain vs. McFarland

6:30 pm - Cal City vs. Mojave

Saturday, March 23

3:15 pm - Vasquez vs. Littlerock

6:00 pm - Home Run Derby

7:30 pm - Palmdale vs. Golden Valley
