Series Will Be Decided Tonight In Chattanooga

In a series that has seen just about everything imaginable, nothing has been settled. The Jacksonville Suns (5-9) and Chattanooga Lookouts (5-9) will play game five tonight at AT&T Field with the series still up for grabs. The first pitch of the rubber match is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET.

Jacksonville evened things at two games apiece with an outstanding pitching performance from Justin Nicolino (W, 1-2, 3.38). Nicolino worked into the 7th, allowing just one run. The flood gates also opened offensively for the Suns, who used thirteen hits including a trio of home runs to cruise to victory. Two of the blasts were provided by third baseman Ryan Fissher. Fisher delivered his first homers of the season in the 3rd and 9th innings respectively. The infielder ended the night with three runs driven in.

It was a struggle for the Lookouts to find any spark against the Suns southpaw starter, Chattanooga was unable to score against Nicolino until his final inning of work. They plated one run in each in the 7th, and 8th innings before adding their final two runs in the bottom of the 9th. It was too little, too late as Jacksonville came away with the 11-4 victory.

Now the teams will turn their attention to a pair of starters hoping to break into the win column for 2014. Jose Urena (0-2, 10.80) will climb the hill for Jacksonville. Chattanooga will also turn to a right-hander in Garrett Gould (0-2, 9.82). The two young starters will be responsible for setting the tone early on behalf of teams desperate for the momentum a series victory could provide.

The clubs played two five game series at each team's home stadium a year ago, nearly splitting the contests right down the middle. Chattanooga ended up with a slim 10-9 advantage in nineteen games played (a twentieth game was on the schedule, but was ultimately cancelled due to weather). Both teams fared well at home, with the Lookouts winning seven of the nine games played at AT&T Field.

Fans can listen to tonight's game live on the Suns Baseball Network, with the "Voice of the Suns" Roger Hoover providing play by play. Hoover is now in his third season as Jacksonville's Director of Broadcasting. He is assisted by Michael West and Jason Patterson. West and Patterson will host the Memorial Hospital Suns Pregame Show beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET on the Suns Baseball Network.

-With a two-run blast in the third and a solo shot to lead off the ninth inning, Ryan Fisher became the first Sun to have a multi-homer game on the 2014 season
