With a 7-4 win over the Palm Beach Cardinals, the Jupiter Hammerheads clinch the series over their Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium neighbors.

For the second straight game, the Hammerheads’ offense came out swinging. In the first inning Sunday, Jupiter tallied three runs to take an early lead. With the bases loaded, Zach Zubia smoked a double into the right-center gap to clear the bases. The 11th double of the season for Zubia had an exit velocity of 106.1 MPH.

In the third inning, Palm Beach would briefly take the lead after scoring four runs, highlighted by a three-run homer from Patrick Romeri. However, Jupiter would respond with a trio of runs in the bottom half of the inning. Zubia struck again and drove in his fourth run of the game with a groundout that scored Osiris Johnson. Cristhian Rodriguez and Cameron Barstad would each connect for RBI singles to make it a 6-4 game heading into the fourth inning.

The only other score of the game would come in the bottom of the seventh courtesy of Hammerheads’ designated hitter Jose Estrada. A sharp grounder that ricocheted off the Cardinals’ pitcher would drive in Zubia.

Every Hammerheads player would reach base on Sunday afternoon. While five players finished with a multi-hit game. Ian Lewis, Brady Allen, Rodriguez, Jorge Caballero, and Barstad all collected two hits for the Hammerheads.

On the mound, Jupiter started off with Gabe Bierman. After retiring the first seven batters, the righty ran into some trouble. The Indiana product would throw 2.2 innings and allowed only three hits.

Reliever Yoilan Quinonez earned his first win of the season after 2.1 innings of one-hit baseball. Of the 10 batters Quinonez faced, the righty struck out five on Sunday.

Luarbert Arias and Patrick Murphy would each pitch two innings after Quinonez. Arias allowed one hit and was credited with his third hold of the season. Murphy also allowed one hit en route to his fourth save of the season.

Jupiter will travel across the state and visit the Bradenton Marauders for a six-game series starting Tuesday evening. You can stream all of the games in Bradenton live on MiLB.tv!
