Hammerheads pull off 10th inning win against Daytona

The Jupiter Hammerheads won by a narrow margin on Monday night, beating the Daytona Tortugas 4-3 in ten innings to push their record above .500 (6-5).
Braxton Garrett had his second start of the season after coming back from Tommy John surgery. After a slow start, the lefty got the Hammerheads out of some trouble in the first inning, allowing only one run despite four getting on base. 
In the second, the Hammerheads tied the game up with singles by James Nelson and Isael Soto pushing in Lazaro Alonso for a run. Then Jose Devers scored in the third to give Jupiter a 2-1 lead. 
Garrett continued pitching for three scoreless innings before Daytona earned two more runs in the fifth, but the Hammerheads tied it back up in the sixth when a sac fly from Nick Fortes scored Alonso.
Despite allowing three runs, Garrett racked up seven more strikeouts over his 4.2 innings. 
Daniel Castano and Vincenzo Aiello both had strong relief performances to keep Jupiter in the game. Castano held off the Tortugas for 3.1 scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and striking out three.  
Aiello closed for the Hammerheads, pitching two scoreless innings with one hit and two strikeouts, which both came in the tenth. Combined with Fortes catching a runner stealing, those Ks helped keep the game tied at three. 
In the bottom of the tenth, the Hammerheads won on a walk-off sacrifice fly by third baseman Nelson, scoring placed runner Devers and giving Aiello the win.
