Hammerheads strike first in final series of 2018

Jupiter, FL. - The Jupiter Hammerheads take the first win in the final series of the 2018 season, beating the St. Lucie Mets 4-2. This brings their 2018 season record up to 70-63.
Starting the night for the Hammerheads was right handed pitcher Brady Puckett (6-1, 2.31 ERA). Puckett would throw for seven and one third innings while earning the win. During his time on the hill he struck out four batters and only allowed one walk. St. Lucie would score first in the top of the third inning. Travis Neubeck (0-1, 3.09 ERA) would come in to finish the eighth inning after St. Lucie would score their second run off of Puckett. Neubeck would face the last two batters of the inning and leave the Mets at two runs for the remainder of the game. Chad Smith (5-3, 3.57 ERA) recorded the save for the Hammerheads. Smith would face three batters and strike out two of them. Twelve of Smith's seventeen pitches were strikes and this would be his twelfth save of the season.  
St. Lucie would score first with one run in the third inning, but the Hammerheads would answer back in the same inning with two runs of their own. Starting things off was Harrison Dinicola with a bunt single to first base. Cory Bird would single to left field moving Dinicola to second base. Riley Mahan singles to right-center field and that would score Dinicola and Corey Bird giving the Hammerheads the lead. An additional insurance run was scored in the sixth as Cameron Baranek singled through the hole at second base to score Stone Garrett. St. Lucie would try to get back in the lead at the top of the eighth with a run scored on a sacrifice fly ball but it wasn't enough because the 'Heads would answer back with another run of their own. This time it was James Nelson leading things off with a single to third base. Gunnar Schubert would follow with a single to the shortstop moving Nelson to second base. With Baranek batting a wild pitch would move Nelson to third and Schubert over to second. Baranek singled to right field and scored James Nelson for the final winning run of the game.
