After Trevor Rogers scoreless start on Tuesday night, the Jupiter Hammerheads fell to the Daytona Tortugas in a tough shutout, 0-2.
Trevor Rogers pitched seven scoreless innings to keep the offensively struggling Hammerheads in the game. Despite allowing eight hits, Rogers spread those hits out and limited Daytona to mostly singles over his seven innings.
The lefty got himself out of trouble several times and settled into a more comfortable rhythm later in his outing, retiring 12 of the last 14 batters he faced.
Otherwise, the Hammerheads had trouble connecting at the plate. Only three hits were recorded over the course of the night, two singles from Víctor Víctor Mesa and one from Riley Mahan.
Alejandro Mateo took the loss on the night, allowing the only two runs of the game in the top of the eighth.
