The Hammerheads kicked off scoring, taking advantage of three walks in second to earn one run off an RBI single from Micah Brown.
Despite a promising first third of the game, the fourth inning got away from the Vallimont with four hits and two walks ultimately earning Palm Beach five runs. Vallimont pitched two more scoreless innings with a final line of: 6 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 6 K.  
Jeff Lindgren, Sean Guenther and Colton Hock each pitched an inning of relief, in that order. Lindgren and Hock both pitched scoreless innings, while Guenther let one cross the plate during his outing.
Marlins #3 prospect Víctor Víctor Mesa hit a line-drive RBI single in the seventh to make it a 5-2 game, but the Cardinals recorded the run off Guenther in the eighth to make the final score 6-2, Palm Beach.
