Jupiter lost 10-5 in a high scoring match up that was cut short after seven innings due to weather.
The Hammerhead pitching staff was led by RHP Daniel Castano. The first year Hammerhead pitched 3 2/3 innings in Monday's match, allowing seven hits.
The defense behind Castano was riddled with errors, out of the 10 runs scored by Lakeland only four were earned.
Jupiter got off to a quick start tonight scoring three runs in the second inning on a three run homer to deep center field off the bat of Justin Twine.
After Jupiter's three run lead, the Flying Tigers came roaring back in the following two innings.
In the third and fourth innings alone Lakeland scored 10 runs and had a total of 13 baserunners.
In the bottom of the fourth the Hammerheads scored two more runs. One coming off of a RBI triple from Twine and the other from an RBI groundout by Roy Morales.
The Hammerhead's defense has been poor as of late as errors have been a common occurrence the past two games.
Despite the struggles, Jupiter's offensive has been efficient as of late as the Hammerheads have scored 20 total runs in their last three games.
Jupiter looks to avoid dropping three straight games and tie up the series in Tuesday night's match up against Lakeland at Rodger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. Tickets and more info can be found at Rogerdeanchevroletstadium.com/tickets-events
