Led by Eury Perez and Victor Mesa Jr., the Jupiter Hammerheads win their third straight after beating the Daytona Tortugas 6-0.

The righty struck out a season-high seven batters and only allowed one hit in three innings of relief. Then, Sam Bordner closed out the game for the Hammerheads. The Columbus native also tossed a one-hitter with four strikeouts on Saturday night.

For the second straight day, the Hammerheads had a player nearly hit for the cycle. OF Victor Mesa Jr. was just a triple away from accomplishing the feat. On Friday, Davis Bradshaw needed a double to complete the cycle.

Mesa Jr. drove in four runs on the night, two of which came on a home run to right-center field. The Cuban native finished 3-4 with his homer coming in the third inning. Mesa Jr continues to lead the team with 37 RBIs in 2021. Mesa Jr.

Nasim Nunez drove in the other two runs for Jupiter. The shortstop also stole a base and now has 25 steals on the season, which is the best in the league.

Alvarez won the silver medal in the 500m speed skating event during the 2014 Winter Olympics. Adding to his list of achievements, he also made his MLB debut for the Miami Marlins last season.
