Offensive trouble in the final game of the weekend series against the Miracle gave the Hammerheads a 4-0 loss on Sunday afternoon.
On the mound were two new faces, Chris Vallimont and Humberto Mejia, both recent additions from Clinton.
In his first start as a Hammerhead, Vallimont had some trouble against the Ft. Myers bats, allowing nine hits over five innings. He had one three up, three down inning in the third, but he finished his start with four earned runs on his line.
Mejia pitched a four-inning close to shutout the Miracle for the remainder of the game. He allowed just one hit and struck out four in his first appearance as a Hammerhead.
The Hammerheads real issues were at the plate, where the Ft. Myers pitching staff denied them a hit until the sixth. With only three singles, the Hammerheads couldn't get any runners across the plate Sunday afternoon.
Tomorrow is a league-wide off day, then the Hammerheads host the Bradenton Marauders for a three-game series in Jupiter.
