Cougars welcome Beloit Snappers for Opening Night 2.0 festivities

GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars, Class-A Minor League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, welcome the Beloit Snappers (Oakland Athletics affiliate) to town for a three-game set beginning on April 13. Homestand highlights include an Opening Night cap giveaway, pre-game Cougars Reading Club parade and the first opportunity to get post-game autographs in the Team Store from select Cougars players.

Homestand Notes

Opening Night 2.0 - Mother Nature tried to spoil Your Cougars Opening Night plans, but we're kicking off the festivities on Friday evening at 6:30 PM. The first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive a 2018 Opening Night cap, courtesy of Northwestern Medicine. Formal introductions of the Cougars roster and staff will take place prior to the National Anthem. Following the game, fans of all ages can run the bases (weather permitting).

Cougars Reading Club - The Cougars reading incentive program is back for its third decade in 2018. This season, the program includes more than 400 Chicago area schools and 125,000 students who are improving their reading skills through the Cougars Reading Club. Participating students who complete reading goals set by their respective teachers are awarded a ticket to an April or May Cougars game, a food voucher, official Cougars Reading Club bag and the opportunity to participate in the pre-game on-field parade. The Cougars Reading Club is sponsored by Cantigny Park, The PRIDE Stores and Oberweis.
