Full-Time Employment

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for prospecting and converting qualified prospects to clients by successfully conducting telephone and email sales calls to both new prospects and existing customers

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS: Hours will vary, but will include evenings, weekends, holidays and long hours on game days

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Front office is part of baseball operations. Staff must be located in office daily to meet with visitors and to make and take calls. Our work environment is fast-paced and at times very stressful. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sit and utilize personal computer for long periods. Have the ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds. Must be able to physically access all areas of the ballpark quickly and safely and assist with pulling field tarp when needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
OFFICE MANAGEMENT:

  • Responsible for creating leads using telemarketing, canvassing, emailing and networking through various outlets
  • Responsible for the operation of tickets through sales software (NetSuite) and ticketing software (TicketReturn) as well as invoicing and processing payments and maintaining accurate records
  • Responsible for meeting with group leaders on game days to ensure that they are having the best experience possible
  • Assist Ticket Office, Guest Services and the parking lot when needed. Answer phones, sell walk-up tickets and future ticket to customers when needed
  • Attend staff meetings to stay informed on franchise needs and expectations
  • Communicate with related departments such as Promotions, Accounting, Catering, Marketing, Operations and Upper Management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

Professional: Minimum of one (1) year experience, college degree preferred, computer hardware and software proficiency preferred - Google Drive, specifically. Knowledge of all software programs used for sales and ticketing. Ability to utilize customer service skills throughout the entire sales process.

Personal: Project a positive image to internal (employees) and external (fans, vendors) customers. Communicate effectively and professionally at all times. Display strong leadership skills, exercise excellent judgment at all times, ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, clean and neat at all times, team builder and team player.

Part-Time Employment

JOB SUMMARY: As a member of the Kane County Cougars Promotions Department, you will responsible for serving as a mascot with the intent of presenting Cougars fans with positive experiences. The Cougars are currently seeking mascots to do events and appearances in an as needed/part-time capacity with the potential for game day performance on an as needed/backup basis. 

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

  • NON-GAME DAY:
    • Appearances in the local community including races, festivals, contests, charitable causes, with the Cougar Crew Street Team, sponsors, etc. 
    • Appearances at Cougars outside events.
    • Conceptualize the mascots personality, antics, role in fan engagement and contribute new ideas for involvement in promotions, appearances, etc. 
    • Communication and collaboration with the Cougars promotions staff.
    • Professionalism in working with both staff members and fans.
    • Improvising and thinking on one's feet to make the best possible decisions in the moment.
  • GAME DAY
    • Pre-game meeting with staff members
    • Energetic pre-game, in-game and post-game presentation as directed by Cougars management staff, keeping in mind the family-friendly atmosphere and vision of the organization as we deliver an excellent show to fans. 
    • Participation in a post-game autograph session once per homestand
    • Professionalism in working with both staff members and fans
    • Adherence to game day agenda/run-down to meet requirements of group outings, birthdays, sponsorships, promotions, etc. 
    • Input on making game day experiences more enjoyable for fans. 
    • Improvising and thinking on one's feet to make the best possible decision in the moment. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Willingness to fulfil the role of a mascot as needed throughout the season and off-season.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, creative and interpersonal skills.
  • Energy and passion when it comes to performing.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays and evenings.
  • Dependable, professional, experiences performer. 
  • Valid drivers' license and reliable transportation.

Seasonal Employment

JOB SUMMARY: Seasonal position assisting the Head Groundskeeper in maintaining the field at the ballpark throughout the preseason, in season and postseason

DIRECTION EXERCISED:  Manage and interact with other grounds crew members as you work together to maintain the field

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays

PAY: $15 per hour, 40 hours a week

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Work will be outside in all types of weather situations, on the field and concourse

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Long periods of time spent on your feet. Have the ability to move up to 50 pounds. Physically access all areas of the ballpark quickly and safely

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

  • Mowing, fertilizing, seeding and maintaining the field
  • Infield prep
  • Mount, home plate and bullpen repair
  • Batting practice setup and teardown
  • Game prep
  • Tarp pulls

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience preferred, but not required

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible for professionally directing fans to proper parking location after collecting parking fee. Greet every guest in a friendly manner and serve them quickly and accurately. Answer any questions regarding facility and direct them to proper entrance gates. 

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NEEDED:  Operate walkie-talkies professionally.

DIRECTION EXERCISED:  Must be able to work independently as well as with a group.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/STADIUM OPERATIONS: 

  • Collect parking fee quickly and accurately. 
  • Direct fans professionally and safely to the proper parking location. 
  • Communicate with other departments and employees to ensure great Guest Courtesy and the safety of all individuals.
  • Maintain order in the parking lot. 
  • Direct fans professionally and safely as they exit the ballpark/parking lot after the game. 

MEETINGS: 

  • Meet with parking supervisor prior to each game and as requested.
