Offense stills the show late in Augusta

The Intimidators got back to their winning ways Saturday night at SRP Park against the GreenJackets, cranking out 14 hits and 10 runs, taking game four of the series 10-8, despite a five-run eighth inning for Augusta.
After a couple clean innings for both Jose Marte and Spencer Moran on the bump, Craig Dedelow got the scoring going with a single up the middle, scoring Tyler Frost who walked earlier in the inning.
Down 1-0, Augusta capitalized on two Moran walks and three singles, scoring two runs on a Shane Matheny single and one on a Malique Ziegler single to take the lead, 3-1.
With Jake Elliott taking over for Moran in the fourth inning, the Intimidators gained some momentum heading into he fifth inning, as Luis Curbelo doubled on a line drive to left field with one out to kick things off. Next up, Steele Walker lifted a 3-1 pitch over the left-center field wall, tying the game on one pitch, 3-3.
After Elliott worked around a one-out double in the bottom of the fifth inning, Michael Hickman and Ian Dawkins both singled with one out, bringing up Ramon Beltre. On the first pitch of Beltre's at-bat, the Intimidators second baseman grounded into a force out up the middle, putting runners at the corners for Kannapolis. With Frost at the plate, the Kannapolis leadoff hitter smoked a ball to Manuel Geraldo at short, as Geraldo committed a throwing error, allowing Hickman to score the leading run, 4-3.
Up by one run, Dawkins, Beltre and Frost all reached base to begin the eighth frame, as Curbelo grounded out to third base to bring in Dawkins, giving the I's a 5-3 advantage. Next up, Walker singled on an 0-2 pitch to center field, scoring Beltre from third to increase the Kannapolis lead, 7-3.
Adding on an insurance run in the top of the ninth, Kannapolis carried an 8-3 lead, needing just three outs to capture their first win of the series. But, in the bottom of the ninth, the Intimidators ran through three pitchers in the frame, walking six total batters and giving up two hits, on their way to allowing five runs in the ninth to tie the game, 8-8.
In the tenth, and with a runner starting the inning at second base, Frost and Walker both doubled to bring in two runs for the Intimidators, giving Kevin Escorcia (W, 3-2) a two-run cushion in the tenth.
In the bottom of the tenth, Escorcia struck out the side, while walking one batter, allowing the I's to capture their first win of the series.
Kannapolis will turn to Zach Lewis for their second win of the series on Sunday, with the first pitch coming at 5:05 in Augusta.
