BELOIT, Wis. - The Kernels and Snappers played into the top of the second inning before the game was suspended because of rain with the score tied 0-0. The game will be resumed on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. A seven-inning game will be played following the completion of the suspended game.

The teams played a scoreless first inning, and the second inning began with Kernels third baseman Bryan Haar drawing a leadoff walk. At that point, the tarp was put on the field because of rain and high winds. Hail started to fall, the rain picked up, and officials eventually called the game.

The series will wrap up on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.

The Kernels return home on Monday night to take on the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Monday game at 6:35 p.m. opens up a seven-game home stand for Cedar Rapids. Monday is Dollar Monday, which features $1.00 regular hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream sandwiches, chips, and Cracker Jacks.
