Kernels announce Fireworks show schedule

Cedar Rapids, IA - Everyone loves fireworks and the Cedar Rapids Kernels have 12 post-game fireworks shows scheduled for the 2013 season.

The first fireworks show is set for Saturday, May 18^th with nine of the 12 shows scheduled for Saturday home games. The Kernels will have fireworks on Thursday, July 4th, Friday, August 16^th and Friday, August 30^th.

The other eight fireworks shows are: May 25^th, June 8^th (presented by the Eastern Iowa Airport), June 15^th (presented by Procter & Gamble), June 29^th, July 13^th, July 27^th, August 3^rd and August 24^th (presented by Cargill / Special Olympics). Look for the RED dates on the Kernels pocket schedule when they come out the week of March 11^th!

2013 season ticket packages and 10-game coupon books are on sale now at the stadium, or by calling the Kernels at (319) 363-3887. Individual game tickets go on sale Monday, March 18^th at 10 am and fans may purchase them early by coming to the Sixth Annual Spring Fling on Saturday, March 16^th from 10 am to 2 pm at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The 2013 Kernels arrive in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, April 2^nd and the first chance to meet the new team is on Wednesday, April 3^rd as part of 'Meet the Kernels Night' from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. The Kernels open the 2013 MWL season at home at 6:35 pm against Beloit on Thursday, April 4^th.
