Kernels announce Post-Game Concert dates

Cedar Rapids, IA - Opening Night is only two weeks away and the Kernels are gearing up for a great 2013 season with a series of post-game concerts this season.

The concert season kicks off on Saturday, May 18th as the country band 8 Seconds performs after the Kernels take on Kane County at 5:05 pm.

Two bands making their first appearance at the stadium are 80's cover band Slap N' Tickle on Saturday, June 15th when the Kernels take on Peoria, and JIF and the Choosey Mothers on Saturday, July 13th, when the Kernels take on Bowling Green. Both games start at 5:05 pm.

The popular Midwest Dueling Pianos return on Thursday, July 4th when the Kernels take on Wisconsin, performing during and after the game. And, the Cedar Island Band returns as part of Jimmy Buffett Night on Saturday, August 3rd when the Kernels take on Quad Cities at 5:05 pm.

The Kernels will also host the second Praise in the Park Iowa concert on Saturday, July 6th, featuring Jeremy Camp, Big Daddy Weave, White Ribbon Day, Zach Svoboda and Bob Colquhoun. A portion of ticket proceeds from this concert will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Tickets for this concert go on sale Monday, March 25th in the Kernels Ticket Office.

2013 season ticket packages, 10-game coupon books and individual game tickets are on sale now at the stadium, by calling the Kernels Ticket Office at (319) 896-7560, and on-line at www.kernels.com. Ticket office hours are 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday.

The 2013 Kernels arrive in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, April 2nd and the first chance to meet the new team is on Wednesday, April 3rd as part of 'Meet the Kernels Night' from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. The Kernels open the 2013 MWL season on Thursday, April 4th when they host the Beloit Snappers at 6:35 pm.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels are the Midwest League affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.
