Kernels looking for Home Clubhouse Manager

February 6, 2014

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels are looking to hire a qualified person for the position of Home Clubhouse Manager for the 2014 season.

Duties include: Taking full care of the home team including all facilities, clubhouse, and equipment. The Home Clubhouse Manager (Clubbie) will clean the facilities, including scrubbing the bathrooms and showers of the players and the coaches daily; provide food for the team at designated times and check out and secure all equipment for the team.

The on-site stadium kitchen prepares food for the players and coaches. The Clubbie is responsible for setting up the meal and cleaning up after the meal. All post-game meals not provided by the Kernels kitchen will be ordered in to the home clubhouse by the Clubbie and paid for by the Kernels.

The Clubbie will also see that the team has all the proper equipment when the bus is loaded for road trips. You will take care of all the managers, coaches and players needs while working with the Kernels Front Office.

This position has a small monthly salary plus the players pay dues to the clubbie twice a month. The Clubbie is responsible for buying a few essentials for the players (snacks, etc.). The Kernels and Minnesota Twins provide the majority of the clubhouse supplies.

Hours for this position vary based on game times but an average day would be 11 am to around 11 pm on home game days. When the team is on the road, the Clubbie is essentially off, unless there are special cleaning projects that need done. This is a seasonal position starting March 15th to September 30th.

Interested applicants should fill out an application in the Kernels Main Office during normal business hours, or download the application from the Kernels web site (www.kernels.com) and mail it in. Contact Scott Wilson ([email protected]) at (319) 896-7612 with questions regarding this position.

The 2014 Kernels arrive in Cedar Rapids on Monday, March 31st and the first chance to meet the new team is on Tuesday, April 1st as part of 'Meet the Kernels Night' from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. The Kernels open the 2014 MWL season on Thursday, April 3rd when they host the Clinton LumberKings at 6:35 pm.
