Players to Wear Special Jerseys on Cancer Awareness Night

FREDERICK, MD -The Frederick Keys honor their longstanding relationship with the Baltimore Orioles and have a variety of fun giveaways in store when the Potomac Nationals visit Nymeo Field from August 11-13. This includes a Jonathan Schoop Gnome and a cardset giveaway featuring some of the top Frederick Keys of all-time. For ticket information fans can call the box office at 301-815-9939 or visit


Friday's game is at 7:00 p.m and gates open one hour prior. It is Cancer Awareness Night and the Keys will be partnering with the American Cancer Society. To honor those who have passed away and to raise awareness, Keys players and coaches will wear special lavender jerseys. These will be auctioned off during the game and proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Afterwards, there will be an Ariana Grande fireworks supershow sponsored by Community Radiology Associates and Sunspace by Central Maryland Sunrooms.

On Saturday, the Keys celebrate their affiliation with the Baltimore Orioles during Salute to the Orioles Night. The first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a Jonathan Schoop Gnome presented by Flying Dog Brewery. Additionally, there will be an appearance by the Oriole Bird, and postgame fireworks, also sponsored by Flying Dog Brewery.


The homestand concludes on Sunday at 2 p.m. Gates open at 1 o'clock and the first 1,000 fans receive a Top Birds Cardset sponsored by Keeney and Basford Funeral Home. This includes several members of the 2017 Keys as well as some of the best to suit up for the team in franchise history.


Fans are invited down onto the field from 1-1:30 p.m for the final Meet the Team Event of the Year. Fans can get up close and personal with Keys players and staff and get autographs. There is also a chance to have a catch in the outfield for the first 30 minutes after gates open. Those interested should bring a ball and a glove.


Sunday Funday activities are presented by Chili's while youngsters who completed the Keys Summer Reading Program are invited to attend the game, courtesy of Maryland Learning Links.
