Kingsport, Tenn. - The Bristol Pirates quieted a near capacity crowd at Hunter Wright Stadium behind a quartet of Buc hurlers in a 7-4 defeat of the Kingsport Mets on Wednesday night.
The defeat spoiled the K Met debut of Brett Baty, the Mets' first round draft pick in this year's draft.
Baty finished the day 0-3 at the plate with a walk.
The Mets' lone rally came in the ninth, as they plated four runs.
Jaylen Palmer and Cristopher Pujols each had RBI-singles in the frame, and Matt O'Neill drove in a run with a ground out.
The Mets will now head on the road for a five-game road trip, with three in Elizabethton and two in Greeneville.
Following a league wide off day on Tuesday July 9th, the K Mets will be back home at Hunter Wright for three games against the Princeton Rays, then host three games in a four-game set against the Greeneville Reds.
