The Kingsport Mets and Greeneville Reds battled for 14 innings and four hours and thirty-seven minutes Thursday evening, as both teams earned a hard fought split.
Game One: Greeneville 6 Kingsport 1
W: Alexis Diaz (3-0)
L: Nate Peden (1-3)
In game one, the Reds got the better of Kingsport 6-1.
Greeneville put up a pair of runs in the first and never looked back, as they ambushed K-Met starrer Nate Peden before he could get settled in.
The lone Kingsport tally came on a RBI-double by Luis Santana in the bottom of the first, which plated Guillermo Granadillo.
Rylan Thomas was the big offensive star for Greeneville, going 3-4 in the opener, while Claudio FInol also added two hits.
Santana was the only K-Met to total two hits.
Game Two: Kingsport 4 Greeneville 3
W: Willy Taveras (3-0)
L: Ricky Karcher (0-2)

S: Christian Tripp (1)
Kingsport got their revenge and clinched the series with a 4-3 victory in the nightcap.
Starter Willy Taveras pitched superb baseball, allowing just two unearned runs over five innings en route to his third victory of the season here in Kingsport.
Luis Silva earned the hold with a solid sixth inning and Christian Tripp picked up his first professional save with a perfect seventh.
The Mets got off to a quick start offensively. After Granadillo led off with a double, he stole third and scored on a throwing error to give the K-Mets a 1-0 first inning advantage.
Two innings later Kingsport ballooned the advantage to three on a pair of RBI infield singles by Ranfy Adon and Mark Vientos.
The Reds cut the deficit to one with a two-run top of the fifth, but the Mets got that run back with a RBI-ground out by Adon in the bottom half.
Greeneville plated an unearned run in the sixth, but could get no closer, as Tripp tossed a one-two-three seventh to earn the save.
