(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- A two-time World Series champion, a WWE Hall-of-Famer, and three notable celebrities from film and television will headline the 2018 Harris Teeter and Old Spice Celeb Series at BB&T Ballpark for the upcoming 2018 season. Opening Knight for the team's fifth campaign at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte is on tap for 7:04 p.m. on Thursday, April 12th against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (New York Yankees).
The Knights will welcome three-time All-Star David Justice to BB&T Ballpark to meet and greet fans on Monday, April 30th. Justice, a fourth round pick of the Atlanta Braves in the 1985 MLB Amateur Draft, won the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 1990 after slugging 28 home runs for the Braves. The talented outfielder, who finished his 14-year major league career with 305 long balls, was a member of two World Series winning teams -- the 1995 Atlanta Braves and the 2000 New York Yankees. For his efforts in the 2000 ALCS against the Seattle Mariners, Justice earned Most Valuable Player honors.
WWE Hall-of-Famer Ted Dibiase, who is better known to fans as the "Million Dollar Man", will meet and greet fans at BB&T Ballpark on Tuesday, June 5th. Regarded as one of the greatest villains in the history of professional wrestling, Dibiase held 30 titles over the course of an established wrestling career , which spanned stints in Mid-South Wrestling, the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Dibiase, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2010, recently had his life documented in a movie called "The Price of Fame". The movie debuted in select theaters in November and has since been one of the top trending documentaries on Amazon Video since December.
On Thursday, June 21st, fans of the iconic television series, "That 70's Show" will want to make their way out to BB&T Ballpark for the team's "That 70's Knight". The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a commemorative T-shirt. The entire night will be headlined by an appearance from actor Don Stark, who played Bob Pinciotti on the popular show. Stark appeared in all 200 episodes of 'That 70's Show', which ran on FOX for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006. Fans can expect to relive the 1970's when they come out to the ballpark on June 21st.
One month later, actor Andy Buckley, who played David Wallace on the television series, "The Office", will meet and greet fans at BB&T Ballpark on Thursday, July 19th for the team's "Tribute to The Office". Buckley appeared in 37 episodes of the show, which ran on NBC from 2006-2013. The first 2,000 fans through the gates on July 19th will receive a commemorative "Office Knight" T-shirt.
On Thursday, August 2nd, the Knights will host a 25th Anniversary salute to the movie "The Sandlot". As part of the festivities, the team will welcome Patrick Renna to the ballpark to meet and greet fans. Renna played the iconic character, "Ham Porter". The first 2,000 fans can also expect to receive a one-of-a-kind Sandlot-themed T-shirt at the gates.
Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. for all five of these appearances in the 2018 Harris Teeter and Old Spice Celeb Series. Additionally, fans can expect the meet and greet sessions on each of these nights to begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. and last approximately 90 minutes (6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.). Each of the celebrities appearing at BB&T Ballpark will also throw out ceremonial first pitches.
Single-game tickets for the 2018 season at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte will go on sale to the general public in person at the BB&T Ballpark Ticket Office beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17th. Two hours later (12:00 p.m. noon), single-game tickets will go on sale online at CharlotteKnights.com and by phone (704-274-8282). Season memberships, as well as partial season plans for the 2018 season at BB&T Ballpark, are on sale now.
