January 14, 2014

(Uptown Charlotte, NC) - BB&T Ballpark, the new Uptown Charlotte home of the Charlotte Knights, will be providing fans in the area with more than just baseball and events year-round. The new ballpark for the Knights will be home to 'The Fuzzy Peach', a North Carolina-based frozen treats store that will feature delicious healthy desserts including frozen yogurt, waffle cones and cups, and more, all-year-round. A grand opening is planned for April of 2014.

"We are very pleased to partner with The Fuzzy Peach and we welcome them to BB&T Ballpark and the Uptown Charlotte area," said Knights Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer Dan Rajkowski. "This will be a year-round facility at BB&T Ballpark that will be able to bring in fans from all across the city. The Fuzzy Peach is a family-oriented business and is a perfect fit for the Knights. It's a great way to tie in BB&T Ballpark and the city of Charlotte throughout the year."

The Fuzzy Peach will be located behind the right field area of BB&T Ballpark, overlooking Romare Bearden Park. The area will be open to the public year-round and will be located next to the club's Team Store, which will also be open year-round. Fans will be able to access The Fuzzy Peach from both inside and outside of the ballpark.

Founded in 2010 in Wilmington, NC by three college roommates and track stars/athletes, The Fuzzy Peach is one of the fastest growing franchises in America. Currently, there are 40 locations located throughout eight states.

"The Fuzzy Peach is thrilled to work with the Charlotte Knights as they begin a new chapter in their storied history in Uptown Charlotte," exclaimed Jason Nista, Owner of The Fuzzy Peach franchise. "The Knights choosing to partner with The Fuzzy Peach shows their commitment to working with and supporting other local, North Carolina based companies. The Charlotte Knights and BB&T Ballpark are setting the example for what a professional sports team can mean to a local community and economy. Combining the Charlotte Knights' commitment with our market-leading product and brand, we look forward to many successful years of serving the Uptown Charlotte community at BB&T Ballpark."
