BB&T Ballpark to Host Chipper Jones Book Signing Event on April 17th

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Chipper Jones, an eight-time National League All-Star and legendary third baseman for the Atlanta Braves during a remarkable 19-year major league career, will sign his new book, Ballplayer, for fans at BB&T Ballpark on Monday, April 17th. The Knights are pleased to partner with Park Road Books on this exclusive event for fans.

Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17th and this limited-ticket event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Jones speaking to the crowd. Along with Jones, the book's co-author, Carroll Rogers Walton -- a Charlotte resident -- will also be on hand to talk to fans at the ballpark during a special chat about the book. Concessions will be open and seating will be available in the main bowl.

Tickets for this exclusive event are $40 per person and include a signed copy of the book, a Field Box ticket to the Charlotte Knights' Negro League Tribute game against the Pawtucket Red Sox on April 18th, as well as $4 of loaded value on that ticket for that game. Please note: Jones will only be signing the book on April 17th. Other items will not be signed and he will not be available for photos for fans.

Selected by the Braves as the number one overall pick in the 1990 Major League Baseball draft, Jones made his MLB debut on September 11th, 1993. Among some of his other accomplishments over his distinguished major league career, Jones was a two-time Silver Slugger Award winner, a key member of Atlanta's 1995 World Series Championship team, and the winner of the 1999 National League MVP. On June 28, 2013, the Braves retired his #10 jersey. He is eligible for induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in 2018.
