Historic Final Knights Stadium Homestand Starts Wednesday

(Fort Mill, SC) - With two thrilling fireworks shows, a Country Western Night, the 3rd Annual Mystery Ball Night, and other great promotions and collectible giveaways mixed in, the final six-game homestand in Knights Stadium history is set to be a historic send-off to the stadium's legendary 24-year run in Fort Mill, SC.  

Baseball returns to Knights Stadium on Wednesday, August 28 as the Knights will host the Norfolk Tides in game one of a three-game series. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 7:15 p.m. It's VIC Card Wednesday and all fans can receive two field box tickets for the price of one by showing their VIC Card at the Knights Stadium Box Office, thanks to Harris Teeter and Kellogg's.

On Thursday, gates will once again open at 6:00 p.m. and the Knights will host their final Thirsty Thursday of the season with $1 sodas and $2 beers, thanks to Hickory Tavern. First pitch of Thursday's game against the Tides is set for 7:15 p.m.  

One night later, the Knights will host their final "Flashback Friday" event of the season and the first 1,000 fans that come out to the 7:15 p.m. game will receive a Knights Hat, courtesy of Founders Federal Credit Union. Friday is also "Social Media Knight" and all fans in attendance will have the opportunity to win some great prizes via the Knights social media pages (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram). Also on Friday, fans can bid on game-worn, autographed Knights jerseys with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the JDRF Charlotte Chapter. 

On Saturday, the Knights will welcome the Gwinnett Braves to town for the first of a three-game series. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans will receive a Retro Knights Team Card Set. Saturday's 7:15 p.m. game also features the 3rd Annual Mystery Ball Night and fans can bid on signed baseballs with all of the proceeds to benefit the Hospitality House of Charlotte. 

The beautiful KnightinGals -- the Knights official dance team, will make their final appearance of the season on Saturday. The girls will dance to country music as part of the evening's Country Western Night, presented by Saddle Up Saloon and Dancehall. After the game on Saturday, the Knights will hold their first of two consecutive fireworks shows, thanks to BB&T Ballpark and News Talk 1110 WBT. 

On Sunday, the Knights will host the Braves in a special 7:15 p.m. game. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the first 2,000 fans will receive a two-sided Knights poster featuring the 2013 Knights team photo on one side and photos of the All Knights Stadium Team on the other side. After the game on Sunday, the Knights will light-up-the-sky with the final post-game fireworks show of the season and in Knights Stadium history. Sunday's post-game fireworks show is presented by BB&T Ballpark, News Talk 1110 WBT, and Strayer University.

After 24 wonderful seasons at Knights Stadium, the Knights will play their final home game on Monday, September 2. Gates open at 1:00 p.m. as the Knights will host the Braves in a 2:15 p.m. game. The first 3,000 fans will receive a Replica Ticket giveaway at the gates, thanks to Ticket Return. 

For $12, all fans can take advantage of an all-you-can-eat pre-game tailgate party in the Knights Stadium picnic area on Monday. Fans can chow down on ballpark fare from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 2:15 p.m. Monday's game also features $1 hot dogs courtesy of Hebrew National. Any fan that purchases three tickets to Monday's game will receive a fourth ticket for free, compliments of Strayer University. 

After the final out is made in the final ever game at Knights Stadium, the Knights will host a special post-game ceremony featuring a number of former Knights players, Homer the Dragon, and much more. Full details regarding the final game will be released later in the week.
