Morris to Sign Autographs on August 16th

Originally drafted in the fifth round of the 1976 amateur draft by the Tigers, Morris won 254 games over the course of his 18-year Major League Baseball career.

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Jack Morris, a four-time World Series champion, will meet fans and sign free autographs at BB&T Ballpark on Wednesday, August 16th as part of the 2017 Harris Teeter & Gain Celeb Series. Throughout the 2017 season, fans can expect a wide array of celebrities and legendary baseball players at BB&T Ballpark presented by Harris Teeter & Gain.

Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16th and fans will have a chance to meet the legendary pitcher before the team's 7:05 p.m. game against the Toledo Mud Hens (Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers). Morris, who will throw out a ceremonial first pitch, will appear at BB&T Ballpark for the 2nd Annual "Mustache Bash" presented by Shear Excellence. As part of the evening's festivities, the five-time American League All-Star will judge a "Men's Grooming" contest. Prizes will be provided by Shear Excellence.

Originally drafted in the fifth round of the 1976 amateur draft by the Tigers, Morris won 254 games over the course of his 18-year Major League Baseball career. After winning 198 games for the Tigers over a 14-year span (1977-1990), the St. Paul, MN native signed with his hometown team and helped lead the Minnesota Twins to a World Series championship in 1991 over the Atlanta Braves. A key contributor to the Twins during the regular season and postseason, Morris posted a 2-0 record with a 1.17 ERA in three World Series starts en route to winning the 1991 World Series MVP Award.
