National Anthem Auditions Set for February 24

February 6, 2014

(Uptown Charlotte, NC) - The Charlotte Knights and Queen City Q are teaming up to host the first round of the team's National Anthem tryouts on Monday, February 24 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Queen City Q in Uptown Charlotte. The tryouts are free of charge and are open to the public. Fans that are under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

"We are very excited to begin our search for the top performers in the area," said Charlotte Knights Community Relations Director Lindsey Roycraft. "This is a great opportunity for people to become a part of the inaugural season at BB&T Ballpark. We look forward to finding many talented voices to sing the National Anthem during the 2014 season."

Contestants will be required to register upon arrival, and will then be given a specific time to perform that day. Each individual will be given a maximum of two minutes on stage to perform his or her best rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner". Judges will select the finalists, who will then be invited back to the final audition at BB&T Ballpark at a date to be determined. Individuals with instruments are more than welcome, but will need to bring their own equipment. Any fan that is interested in trying out is asked to email [email protected] with their name and time they wish to sing on February 24.

"As a veteran-owned business, we are proud to host the Charlotte Knights National Anthem auditions," said Queen City Q's Managing Partner Bryan Meredith.

Queen City Q is located at 225 E. 6th Street, Charlotte, NC 28101. Fans that are unable to make the auditions at Queen City Q on February 24 can send a copy of a performance to the Charlotte Knights via email at [email protected]. Website links and mailed submissions will also be accepted at 324 South Mint Street Charlotte, NC 28202. The Knights will open BB&T Ballpark on Friday night, April 11 at 7:05 p.m. against the Norfolk Tides. For more information about Charlotte Knights Baseball, log on to www.charlotteknights.com.
