PawSox Rally to Beat Knights 8-6 on Thursday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - A four-run top of the eighth inning led the Pawtucket Red Sox to a come-from-behind 8-6 win over the Charlotte Knights on Thursday at BB&T Ballpark in front of a sell-out crowd of 10,291 fans. The PawSox scored all four of their eighth-inning runs against White Sox reliever Matt Lindstrom (0-1, 17.18), who was saddled with the loss in his fourth rehab appearance of the season.

Alex Hassan and Ryan Lavarnway led the way for the PawSox with three hits apiece. Pawtucket reliever Alex Wilson (5-1, 4.58) earned the win despite allowing two runs in the seventh inning. Wilson allowed a seventh inning home run to Josh Phegley, who had another impressive day at the plate.

Phegley continued his assault on International League pitching and went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs in the loss. Over his last three games, Phegley is hitting .750 (9-for-12) with three home runs and 13 RBIs. The Terre Haute, IN native now has 20 home runs on the season to go along with 68 RBIs. He had a season-high six RBIs in Wednesday's game.

White Sox outfielder Avisail Garcia went 1-for-4 with a run scored in his sixth Major League Rehab appearance of the season. Garcia, who was the DH in his first five rehab games, played right field on Thursday. Garcia is now hitting .478 (11-for-23) with a home run and seven runs scored. Michael Taylor extended his hit streak to seven consecutive games with a double in the ninth inning.

Charlotte RHP Erik Johnson started and allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits over six innings and did not factor in the decision. He walked two batters and struck-out five. Lindstrom threw 30 pitches in the eighth inning - allowing four runs on three hits over 0.2 innings pitched.

RHP Chien-Ming Wang (11-6, 3.98) gets the start for the Knights on Friday against Pawtucket RHP Anthony Ranaudo (12-4, 2.41). Gates open at 11:00 a.m. for the 12:05 p.m. game at BB&T Ballpark.
