The Tennessee Smokies beat the Chattanooga Lookouts 10-5 to win their first game of the series on Thursday night.
The decisive inning was the eighth inning when the Smokies (28-20) sent 10 men to the plate and scored five times to break a 5-5 tie.
Kevin Alcantara went 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs. He now has 12 hits in his last five games.
Cam Sanders (1-0) pitched 2.1 innings in relief and got the win. Jake Gozzo (0-2) took the loss for Chattanooga (14-34). Frankie Scalzo Jr. pitched his 19th consecutive inning without allowing an earned run.
The Smokies and Lookouts will meet again on Friday at 7 p.m. ET. The promotion at the park is Elvis night.
