The Tennessee Smokies beat the Chattanooga Lookouts 3-2 to even the series on Friday Night.
The Smokies (29-20) tied the game in the bottom of the Ninth inning as Yohendrick Pinango scored on a throwing error by the Lookouts' second baseman Tyler Calihan. The Smokies then walked it off in the bottom of the Tenth inning via a Luis Verdugo RBI single scoring Christian Franklin.
Yohendrick Pinango went 2-4 on the night and picked up his first Double-A RBI in the bottom of the fourth inning for the Smokies.
Brandon Birdsell (2-4) pitches six innings for the Smokies tonight while only allowing two hits and punching out three lookouts. Right-hander Blake Whitney (4-0) picked up his fourth win on the year pitching 1.2 innings of relief. Vin Timpanelli (0-2) picked up the loss for Chatanooga (14-35). Chase Petty pitched five strong innings for the Lookouts only giving up one earned run.
The Smokies look to the lead in the series on Saturday Night at 7 p.m. ET.
