(Eastlake, OH) - Friday's game between the Lake County Captains (1-0) and the Fort Wayne TinCaps (0-1) was suspended due to snow in the fourth inning. The wintry precipitation halted play with Fort Wayne on top, 6-2.

Because the Captains and TinCaps will not face each other at Classic Park for the rest of the first half, the teams will be forced to resume the suspended game this Sunday in Fort Wayne. The game will continue from the start of the fourth inning with Esteury Ruiz scheduled to lead off for the TinCaps. The suspended game will be played to its regular nine-inning completion and will be followed by a seven-inning game that will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended contest.

Before the snow interrupted the ballgame, the TinCaps jumped out to an early lead against Captains starter Juan Hillman . Fort Wayne scored three runs in the first inning on a Tirso Ornelas two-run homer and a Carlos Belen RBI double. In the second, the TinCaps tacked on three more tallies thanks in part to three Captains errors, plus an RBI double by Gabriel Arias.
Lake County scored one run in the first and one in the second against TinCaps lefty Aaron Leasher. In the first, Mike Rivera worked a bases-loaded walk that forced in Austen Wade . The following inning, Todd Isaacs led off with a double and Tyler Friis succeeded him with a double of his own to knock in Isaacs.
The Captains will head to Fort Wayne on Saturday to play the back end of their home-and-home series with the TinCaps. Saturday's game is scheduled to begin at 6:05 p.m. at Parkview Field.
