Team Announces New Promo Lineup and New Daily Promotions for 2020 Season
Lake Elsinore, California (March 4, 2020) - The Lake Elsinore Storm, Advanced-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, today announced their fun-filled 2020 promotional schedule, offering fans a chance to mark their calendar for giveaways, fireworks, special guests and festive themes throughout the 70-game home schedule.
"We are thrilled to unveil our promotional lineup and highlights for the 2020 baseball season," said Christine Kavic, Storm co-General Manager and CFO. "Our festive plans, off-season changes and a soon-to-be special announcement certainly accentuate the goal this year of enhancing the fan experience at the ballpark."
The fun begins on Opening Night at The Diamond on Thursday, April 9 at 7:00pm with a pre-game Happy Hour (5:30-6:30pm) that coincides with a Magnet Schedule Giveaway and Lottery Scratchers handed to fans at the gates. Daily promotions throughout the seven-game homestand include a Family Fun Friday, Tailgate Saturday, Military Monday, Thunder Cares Tuesday and a Wine Down Wednesday.
The Opening Homestand concludes on April 16 with a new daily promotion. It's the first "Expect the Unexpected Thursday" of the season, sponsored by Coors Light, with Midget Wrestling taking center stage after the game. Other Thursday themes are Friends with Benefits Night, Storm Office Night with guest appearance from Stanley Hudson, NSFW 18+ Night, a traditional Thirsty Thursday and more. Also, in April, receive a keepsake 2020 Team Photo Giveaway, presented by Riverside University Health System Behavioral Health, on Friday, April 24 that includes a pre-game team autograph session for all attending fans.
In May, get in line early on the 8th for a Storm Duffel Bag Giveaway presented by Smile Generation. On May 9, it's Breakin' Badder Night with a special appearance by Hank Schrader (aka actor Dean Norris). From May 14-16, the splendor of Geekend returns for a seventh year, highlighted by Storm Office Night, a Superpowers Night with a Stormpool T-Shirt Giveaway, and a Star Wars Night with a Supreme Leader Hat Giveaway thanks to San Diego Blood Bank.
Storm mascot, Thunder, the loveable green dog, will bark it up with mascot friends for his 20th birthday on June 13th, as the first 1,500 guests will receive a Thunder Bank Giveaway. For fans who like a morning start time, Super Splash Day on June 30 begins at 11:00am for kids of all ages.
In July, celebrate Independence Day early on July 3rd with a Fireworks Extravaganza. One week later, it's Ho Ho Ho time on Friday, July 10 with Christmas in July and a Dual Thunder Santa and Mini Thunder Elf Bobblehead Giveaway presented by Dickey's BBQ Lake Elsinore. On July 31 get in the Olympic spirit with a Patriotic Storm Jersey Giveaway presented by the Lake Elsinore Casino and our local McDonald's.
In August, make plans for the Annual Pride Night on the 1st, a Storm Hat Giveaway, sponsored by Sharp Business Systems, on the 14th, a Flying Circus Night on the 27th, the final Fireworks Friday as well a 2021 Schedule Cup Giveaway, presented by 7UP, on the 28th, concluding with a Used Car Giveaway on Everything Night on August 31.
For other daily promotions to go along with Expect the Unexpected Thursdays, on Fridays it's a win-win for fans as the Storm will host five Fireworks Nights, one per month, and 10 Friday Giveaways. New in 2020 is Tailgate Saturdays, with special theme nights, live music and pre-game fun for revelers of all ages in Parking Lot B on the third base side of the stadium.
For the third year in a row the Storm will be honoring our local Hispanic community by transforming into the Cadejos de Lake Elsinore for every Sunday home game and on Tuesday, May 5th (Cinco de Mayo). This year the team is excited to announce Alberto's Mexican Food will be adding the Sazón to our food options, and La Flor de Cotija, another new partner, will be serving authentic Mexican treats that will surely enhance $Cinco Sunday$, the best deal in town. Each Cinco Sunday, presented by Chihuahua Cerveza, includes $5 tickets, $5 parking, $5 food and beverage specials, as well as offering Latin entertainment, food, crafts and arts, and even our very own bodega filled with sweet-tooth goodies. Also, new in 2020, every Sunday features a parking lot Swap Meet from 7:00am - 3:00pm.
Join us on Military Mondays, presented by Frontwave Credit Union, as the team salutes the brave men and women in the military, who will receive two free tickets per active military ID. On home Tuesdays, sponsored by Anderson Chevrolet, the Storm pay it forward, as our own non-profit, Thunder Cares, will aim to assist non-profit organizations in the community. Also, cheers to Wine Down Wednesdays as the Storm welcome a new partnership with Wilson Creek Winery. Enjoy wine specials and wine slushies at our Wilson Creek Veranda located at the party deck on the third base side.
Additionally, the Diamond Club Restaurant, located down the left field line at the ballpark, is now officially the Diamond Taproom, open every Thursday through Sunday throughout the year as a full-service sports bar and restaurant. The Diamond Taproom is open on Thursday and Friday from 4pm-11pm, Saturday from 10am-11pm and Sunday from 10am-6pm. Brunch will be served from 10am-2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Single-game tickets for all 70 home games will go on sale Monday, March 9 at 10:00am PST. To ensure the best seats for the best nights, purchase tickets online via stormbaseball.com, at the box office located at 500 Diamond Drive or by calling the ticket office at 951-245-4487, Monday through Friday from 10:00am until 5:00pm.
