After weather delayed the start for more than two hours, Dylan Burdeaux knocked a two-run double in the eighth inning to give the Flying Tigers a late-night win behind a gutsy pitching performance from Alex Faedo.

The Hammerheads scored first in the top of the third when Brian Miller doubled in Aaron Knapp for a 1-0 lead. Jupiter struck again in the top of the fifth with an unearned run that ended the night for Faedo, who lasted just 4 2/3 innings.
The Flying Tigers couldn't muster any offense against flamethrower Jorge Guzman, who limited Lakeland to just three hits in 5 2/3 innings while tying a career-high with ten strikeouts. The score remained 2-0 until the eighth inning, when Isaac Paredes followed back-to-back singles from Cam Gibson and Derek Hill with a sacrifice fly off reliever Reilly Hovis, cutting the deficit in half. After a two-out walk to Danny Pinero, first baseman Dylan Burdeaux smacked a two-run double to give the Flying Tigers their first lead of the game.
Liarvis Breto pitched three scoreless innings to close the game and earn his first win as a Flying Tiger as Lakeland moved into a tie for first with the Daytona Tortugas. Seven games remain in the first half, which ends June 20.
Up Next: The Flying Tigers send Gregory Soto (2-2, 5.72 ERA) to the hill to face the Hammerheads in Game 2 of the series as Lakeland looks to claim sole possession of first place in the North Division.
Tuesday Night features Baseball Bingo sponsored by Hooters, with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. Fans can enjoy $2 tacos while adults 21 and over can also enjoy $3 Margaritas and Modelo specials.
