17 Former BlueClaws Part of Phillies Summer Camp Roster

Group includes several players who could be making their big league debuts in 2020

A total of 17 former BlueClaws comprise the initial Phillies player pool, announced by the team on Sunday night. The group will begin training this week in Philadelphia for the start of the 2020 MLB season.

A total of 17 former BlueClaws comprise the initial Phillies player pool, announced by the team on Sunday night. The group will begin training this week in Philadelphia for the start of the 2020 MLB season.

Among the former BlueClaws to be a part of Summer Camp are several players who would be making their big league debuts should they get into a game this summer.

The former BlueClaws within the Phillies Player Pool are listed below (year[s] with the BlueClaws in parentheses).

RH Pitchers - Connor Brogdon (2018), Edgar Garcia (2016), Spencer Howard (2018), Mauricio Llovera (2017), Hector Neris (2011), Ramon Rosso (2018), Addison Russ (2017-18)

LH Pitchers - Damon Jones (2018), JoJo Romero (2017), Ranger Suarez (2017)

Catchers - Deivy Grullon (2014-16), Andrew Knapp (2014)

Infielders - Alec Bohm (2019), Rhys Hoskins (2015), Scott Kingery (2015)

Outfielders - Adam Haseley (2017), Roman Quinn (2013)

Brogdon, Howard, Llovera, Rosso, Russ, Jones, Romero, and Bohm have yet to play in a Major League game. All told, 95 former BlueClaws have gone From the Shore, to the Show (full list here). Last year, six made their debuts including Garcia, Haseley, and Grullon with the Phillies.

The 2020 MLB season is slated to begin on July 23rd.
