"70 Sandy Ovations" Program to Honor Sandy Relief Efforts

BlueClaws to recognize one company or individual at all 70 home games in 2013
January 21, 2013
LAKEWOOD, NJ - The BlueClaws, at all 70 home games in 2013, will honor one company, individual, or charitable organization that contributed to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, the team announced, unveiling a new 70 Sandy Ovations program.

"While Sandy did great damage all across our area, the positive response that came from the community and from grassroots organizations was overwhelming and inspiring," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "This is our way of saying thank you to these individuals or groups that went out of their way to help those in need at such a difficult time."

Organizations will be randomly selected among those that apply or are nominated by others.

To apply, please return this order form, to [email protected].

"There are so many people that deserve an ovation for their efforts in the aftermath of Sandy, and recognizing them will make for an ovation-worthy moment at every one of our games this year," said Brown.

Each honoree will receive tickets to that night's BlueClaws game, a ceremonial first pitch for one representative, recognition on the field between innings, a table on the concourse, a photo with a BlueClaws player, and an interview on the BlueClaws radio broadcast.

Organizations will also receive recognition on BlueClaws.com, the BlueClaws Facebook page, and in BlueClaws e-newsletters.

As part of the BlueClaws Restore The Shore efforts, the team is raising money through t-shirt sales. Restore The Shore t-shirts are available in the Claws Cove, with proceeds benefiting BlueClaws Charities relief efforts. Further, businesses and organizations are encouraged to raise money by wearing the shirts every Friday and collecting each week. Money will be handed out to those impacted through grants in the coming months. For more details, visit BlueClaws.com/Restore.
