SALISBURY, MD - JC Encarnacion drove in three while Adam Hall had two hits and two RBIs as Delmarva topped the BlueClaws 12-2 on Friday night at Perdue Stadium.
Delmarva (36-10) took the last three games of the series from the BlueClaws (15-32) after Lakewood won the first on Tuesday. The BlueClaws dropped eight of nine on their road trip to Greensboro and Delmarva.
The Shorebirds quickly opened a lead, scoring three times in the first inning including on a two-runs single from JC Encarnacion. Adam Hall added a two-run triple in the bottom of the second inning to put Delmarva up 5-0.
Lakewood starter Ethan Lindow (1-2) was charged with five runs over four innings of work and took the loss.
Luke Miller, who was activated by the BlueClaws on Thursday, hit a solo home run in the fourth to put the BlueClaws on the board. Miller, drafted in the 22nd round last year out of Indiana, hit his third professional home run.
The Shorebirds added four more runs off Robinson Martinez in the fifth inning. Ben Breazeale had a two-run double while Alexis Torres added an RBI single and Nick Horvath added an RBI double.
Shorebirds starter Nick Vespi (3-2) gave up one run over 5.2 innings to earn the win. He struck out nine and walked three.
Doran Turchin had a two-run double in the eighth off Manuel Silva as the Shorebirds added three more runs to account for the final margin.
Jack Conley had a fielder's choice groundout to drive in Lakewood's last run off Tyler Joyner in the ninth. Joyner got the last 10 outs to earn his fourth save.
Miller, Carlos De La Cruz, and Jonathan Guzman had the three hits for Lakewood.
The BlueClaws return home on Saturday to start a four-game series with Kannapolis. RHP Kyle Glogoski will start the series opener for Lakewood.
