Walk-Off Claws Strike Again on Miller's Game-Winner In The 10th

Lakewood has won three straight home games in walk-off fashion.

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Luke Miller delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th as the BlueClaws picked up their third straight walk-off win and second in a row on this homestand, topping Kannapolis 5-4 on Sunday.
Miller drove in Jonathan Guzman with two outs on an 0-2 pitch for the winning run one day after Lakewood topped Kannapolis on a 10th inning passed ball.
The BlueClaws (17-32) have won their last three home games on walk-offs - May 16th vs Hagerstown and Saturday vs Kannapolis (20-29).
Oscar Marcelino, who threw a scoreless 10th despite an inherited runner on second base, earned the win to improve to 1-1.
Kannapolis took the lead in the top of the ninth inning on a home run by Alex Destino, but Cole Stobbe tied the game in the bottom of the 10th with a two-out RBI single off Vince Arobio.
The BlueClaws scored first when Jonathan Guzman drove in Cole Stobbe with a third inning RBI single. Guzman, who had two hits in the game, extended his hitting streak to nine.
Kannapolis took the lead with two runs in the top of the fourth. Amado Nunez drove in a run on a groundout and Ian Dawkins delivered an RBI single. Lakewood starter Dominic Pipkin came out there, allowing two runs in 3.2 innings.
The Intimidators added a run in the fifth off Rafi Gonnell on a SAC fly from Alex Destino. Trailing 3-1 in the sixth, the BlueClaws put two on for Carlos De La Cruz, who ripped a two-run double to left to tie up the game.
Kannapolis starter Davis Martin gave up three runs over six innings and did not factor in the decision. Miller, Jimmy Smith and Cole Stobbe had two hits apiece for the BlueClaws.
The teams continue their series on Monday night at 6:35 pm. RHP Victor Santos (2-4) starts for Lakewood.
