Wild walk-off win opens Second Half
LANCASTER, Calif. - The JetHawks began play after the All-Star break with a walk-off win, 7-6, over Rancho Cucamonga Thursday night at The Hangar. Lancaster scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning on two hits, three walks and four wild pitches.
LANCASTER, Calif. - The JetHawks began play after the All-Star break with a walk-off win, 7-6, over Rancho Cucamonga Thursday night at The Hangar. Lancaster scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning on two hits, three walks and four wild pitches.
Rancho Cucamonga (0-1, 41-28) took a three-run lead into the bottom of the ninth after a
Gamboa (4-2) struggled and could not record an out. He walked in a run and allowed another to score on a wild pitch.
The win was Lancaster's fifth in walk-off fashion this season. It's the team's second-straight comeback win, after overcoming a six-run deficit in a win over Inland Empire on Sunday.
The Quakes struck first with
Lancaster is 10-5 against the Quakes, who won the First Half title in the South Division. Thursday's game was the first of 20 in a row for the JetHawks against divisional opponents.
