LANSING, Mich. - Lansing Lugnuts baseball returns to Mid Michigan in grand fashion, inviting fans to Meet the Team on Wednesday night before reopening Cooley Law School Stadium with a gala Ribbon Cutting ceremony Thursday morning.
At 7 p.m. on Wednesday night, the Auto-Owners Insurance suite level is the spot to welcome former Major Leaguer Ken Huckaby and his Lansing Lugnuts to Michigan's state capital. The night begins with a team autograph session, continues with individual introductions of the players, and concludes with mingling over food and drinks supplied by Professional Sports Catering.
Opening Week festivities resume at 10 a.m. on Thursday, with a Ribbon Cutting to celebrate the completion of Phase 1 of the $13.5 million renovation project and the re-opening of Cooley Law School Stadium. On Thursday evening, the Lugnuts host the Michigan State Spartans at 7:05 p.m. in the 9th Annual Crosstown Showdown presented by Auto-Owners Insurance. The game is a Labatt Thirsty Thursday, featuring $2 beer and soda specials, and the first 2,000 fans to enter the stadium will receive a commemorative baseball souvenir.
Opening Night 2015 is at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, April 10th, as the Lugnuts open their 20th Midwest League season by welcoming the Lake County Captains. In honor of the anniversary, tickets cost just $5.50, a throwback to 1996 inaugural season prices.
