The Augusta GreenJackets scored two runs on one hit in the bottom of the seventh inning and then held on for a 2-1 win over the Lexington Legends Monday night in Augusta.

The game was scoreless until the Legends broke through with a run in the top of the seventh against Augusta starter Domenic Mazza, who pitched a perfect game against the Legends April 25.

Gabriel Cancel led off with a single, moved to second on a single by Emmanuel Rivera and scored on a double by Nick Dini.

In the bottom of the seventh, Jacob Heyward drew a leadoff walk from Legends reliever Ofreidy Gomez. Heyward moved to second on a wild pitch, to third on a sacrifice by Shawon Dunston Jr. and scored on a single by Cristian Paulino. Paulino took second on a balk, stole third and came home with the go-ahead run when Gomez committed an error on a ball hit by Brandon Van Horn.

Mazza (2-4) worked the first seven innings and picked up his second win of the season, both against Lexington. Nolan Riggs and Patrick Ruotolo each pitched one inning of scoreless relief. Ruotolo earned his third save.

Gomez (0-5), who entered the game at the start of the seventh inning, took the loss. Lexington starter Garrett Davila allowed three hits in six scoreless innings. He struck out six batters and walked two.

The Legends have won two out of three in the series, which concludes with a morning game Tuesday. Game time is 10:35 a.m.
