(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) With baseball season fast approaching, the Lexington Legends will welcome fans to Whitaker Bank Ballpark Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. for "Stache-a-Palooza," a day of fun, food and more.
A variety of games and activities for young fans will be available, and everyone is invited to sample some of the items that will be found on the menu at concession stands in 2017.
A special "Coach Cal" ticket plan will be available for purchase at the box office only during Stache-a-Palooza. The seven-game package includes three dates -- Saturday, May 27; Saturday, June 17; and Friday, August 11 - on which three different bobbleheads recognizing University of Kentucky men's basketball coach John Calipari will be given away to the first 3,500 fans through the gates. But fans who purchase the ticket plan Saturday are guaranteed to receive each of the three bobbleheads if they attend the games on those three dates. Three options are available for the seven-game plan: $99 for box seats, $109 for field box, and $119 for club seats. The bobblehead nights are part of a partnership between the Legends and The Calipari Foundation.
The Legends will also hold auditions for the position of public address announcer.

Throughout the ballpark
Watch for Big L: Big L, Pee Wee and friends will be all around the ballpark, and will be available for photos with fans.
In the seating bowl
PA auditions: The Legends will hold auditions for the position of public address announcer for the 2017 season. Participants will have the opportunity to read aloud a PA script provided by the Legends. (Experience preferred.)
In the Kentucky Ale Taproom
Food - and it's free: Free samples of food items will be available, including: fried bologna sandwich on a glazed doughnut, a 2016 favorite back by popular demand; a buffalo chicken sandwich, which is new to the concession stands for 2017; bacon wrapped chicken nuggets (the winning menu item developed by a team of Crawford Middle School students as part of the Legends' StacheTank competition; and hot dogs - because it's almost baseball season.
Drinks, including green beer: Complimentary water, coffee, hot chocolate and soft drinks will also be offered. Beer will be available for purchase, including green beer in anticipation of St. Patrick's Day.
Drawings for prizes: There will be on-the-hour drawings for a variety of Legends-related prizes.
Tournaments on television: Fans can keep up with college basketball on TV screens throughout the Taproom.
On the concourse
- New look -- and sound: Face painting and hair braiding can provide a new look for fans, and DJ Mykraphone Mike will provide the soundtrack.
The Stache Shoppe Retail Store:
-Get your gear: The Legends' merchandise store, The Stache Shoppe, will be open throughout Stache-a-Palooza. Fans can find many new items for 2017, and a variety of clearance items will also be available. (The Stache Shoppe is always open online at www.lexingtonlegends.com.)
On the field:
-Jump, ride, and slide: There will be a variety of games on the field, including:
-Euro bungee - Four trampoline stations will be set up, and participants can jump more than 20 feet in the air.

The 70-game home schedule opens Thursday, April 13, when the Legends, class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, take on the West Virginia Power, an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
